Worlds Largest 5k Race series

The Komen Race for the cure® is a 5k run/walk and a one mile family fun run sponsored by the local Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. It is a fun, festive event, but more importantly, it is a race for life. Runners and walkers of all ages come together to celebrate the survivors who are winning the battle against breast cancer and to remember those who have lost their lives to the debilitating disease.

As the main fundraiser for the Komen NC Foothills Affiliate, up to 75% of the net proceeds raised through this event goes to support breast cancer screening, awareness and education programs right here in the foothills area. The Komen NC Foothills Affiliates serves Burke, Caldwell and Catawba counties. The remaining net income, a minimum of 25% goes to furthering cutting edge research on breast cancer through the Komen Race for the cure® Grants Program.
